Design Parade 7 is a festival exhibiting young designers in Villa Noailles, Hyères.Today, let’s discover Henny van Nistelrooy‘s work !

Age13 : How would you present yourself ?
Henny van Nistelrooy : A traditionally working design studio making progressive things. With traditional I mean that design for me is still a service and I want to understand a context fully in order to create a sensible design. Research is inherent in the process of design.

Age13 : What are the issues for young designers today ?
H-N : Creating a harmony between the environment and economics into something appealing for the public.

Age13 : What do you want to communicate with your creations ?
H-N : I want to simplify things where they are complicated.

Age13 : Can you present the project you are exhibiting in Villa Noailles ?
H-N: “Revolver” is an ingenious display and storage system suited for both retail and domestic environments. The cantilever structure is designed to be user-friendly and flexible. It can be assembled simply by hooking the shelf onto the wooden framework. When the shelf sits flat, it maximises the space for storage; when it stands upright, it becomes the ideal backdrop for display. The system can be changed by simply “revolving” the shelf !

Age13 : What are your plans for the future ?
H-N : Keep on making progress.
